My Story

A graduate of Florida State University, I hold a Bachelor of Arts with honors in English and International Affairs, and have completed with Graduate Editing and Publishing Certificate.

I currently work as an editor at Municode in Tallahasse, FL. I interpret ordinances, edit the text for style, and code this text for both online and print publication.

I previously worked at the Florida Senate where I edited and proofread bills of varying topics and lengths. On a typical day, I edited or proofed 150 pages of proposed legislation.

In the summer of 2013, I interned at Dods Parliamentary Communications in London, England. I served as both a feature writer and an events assistant. Between November 2011 and May 2012, I interned as a columnist with a local (now defunct) grassroots organization, Politikool.  You can find some of my work in my portfolio.

My goal as an editor is not to rewrite an author's work. I work to help authors produce clear, concise, and original work. I am comfortable editing a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, news writing, scholarly writing, fiction (including fanfiction), and blog posts.
